german leather strap with spring clips what was it for please?

Hi All
I need help with this item please it is leather with marked buckles and five holes for the buckle giving adjustment from 51 inch to 55 inch it came with a flare box but i have no idea what it was used for. As this is not my area at all any help would be gratfully recived.

ps i cant find any markings on the buckle but there is a faint ink stamp on the underside of the leather i will try to get a good pick of it.

Hi Andy, it is a belt cross strap. (Like on a Sam Brown belt) Goes over the shoulder and would clip onto two D rings worn on the belt. Political and not military, most likely HJ issue.

wow that was fast thank you very very much i had no idea where to start with it will it be ww2 or pre/post war.
forgive me this is not my field but what is HJ issue?

thanks for that i would have never tracked down it's id it's strange what you end up with somtimes.
i have never had anything hitler youth related before i collect drill rounds and anything to do with flare guns and there equipment thats how i ended up with this.

Hi Andy, if it does not really fit into the theme of your collection you could always sell it here on the forum? We have several HJ collectors here. Price it competitively and put the money towards something for your collection.
