It looks to be a cartridge pouch , by the look of the inside . IMHO

A Pre-WWI cartridge pouch in great condition...designed for the Mauser Gew.71 and later the Gew.88...

Apprently yours was the 1882th Patronentasche issued within the Grenadier Regiment 123, 11. Kompanie...
