German optic mount for 10 x 80's .... what do you know?

I picked this piece up quite a while back. Its actually 2 different parts, with the lower piece being nothing unusual. Where as I am somewhat stumped by the top section. I have not seen another one anywhere nor do I know exactly what it goes with although I know that the standard 10 x 80's fit fine on it. Do any of you guy's know anything about it or have pictures of one in use. Its in lovely condition but it would be nice to know more about it.
