Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

I can find no markings. only the numerals for adjusting the focus. When you look through it there are highly defined cross hairs. The bottom of the cross hair has numerals 40 then 20, then 0, then goes across on the other side 20 and 40. The upper cross hair and the right cross hair are single lines. The lower cross hair and the left cross hair are single lines. Does that help?
