    Default German WW2 Binoculars (?)

Hey Guys - any thoughts on this item? Is it WW2 made?

Made of alu. The code is "bmk" (Srb & Stys Fabrik Praziser Messinstrumente, Prague, Czech), the serial # is: "74970", "H /6400" marking, and has also has some kind of scratched out marking. Horizontal cross hairs.

Does the letter H stands for "Heer"?
Is the strap original to this item?

    Thanks - Fabe

PS: The asking price is 40 EU.

From these photos, it's hard to say if the strap is original or not....but i dont see any red flag
For 40 euro grab them right now....yes you can find eyecups....
    Thanks

Thanks again - looking for eyecups as I write this...only found some US M9 6x30 cups so far: UNIVERSAL 6X30 BINOCULAR EYE GUARDS/CUPS FOR M9 - Surplus Shed

If you know where to find them, please do let me know...

You can find some for sale from time to time. I've seen brown ones for sale three months ago. I once remember getting one pair of black ones from very damaged binos...there are many possibilities but you got to be patient...patience is the rule is this hobby. Wait and see...
I did check some of my spare parts boxes for you but only found an old pair of mismatched eyecups, both black, but one is slightly higher than the other one...not very desirable i'm afraid...i'll let you know if i see some for sale...
    Thanks

Someone makes replacement eye cups - can't remember the vendor. Try Optical Repairs - Binocular, Telescopes, Ophthalmic Equipment Repairs & Servicing NH

Also, the "Dienstglas" marking removed devalues this much? - I'm guessing that the 40 EU price is still a good deal - strap looks original...

As long as the reticle is still there, the optics work well,
collimation is correct and they focus nicely, I suppose
40 Euro is not too bad. I have seen better for slightly
more. Depends on how badly you want them.........
    Regards,

    Steve.
