German ww2 fork, marking G.N.L.42

Article about: by vossler anyone knows what it might be worth... I have bought them nicely marked for about \\$20-25

    What do they mean?
    the fork is in aluminium....any info on that

    Legit - probably a makers mark and likely to be a mess hall utensil.

    Is 42 the year that it was made?

    42 is the year, don't know about the GNL.

    hear it could come from the Kriegsmarine due to the fact that it's made of aluminium.

    GNL will be the maker: the type of metal used has no bearing on the branch of service which used the item.

    G.N.L. is a very commonly seen maker of German messkits, canteens and so forth. This particular fork looks to be from an Army mess hall.
