    Squeaky clean except for a little dent. A very nice 44 dated example! Not sure what these are going for these days but we used to pay about 40 US. NH

    Just has the wrong strap. This is an equipment one with the extra button down strap - often used but not as issued.

    Thanks I thought the strap was weird. didn't work well with the bread bag.

    I didn't know that, I've always thought that this was the proper type of strap...I've got one too that's identical yet postwar BW...

    MP44 Tom explains it on his website ( surprised he didn't mention it ) but the mess tin strap is just a long plain strap that threads through the breadbag fittings. You undo the buckle and the strap stays with the bag. That is the issued intent, I'm certain many found the equipment straps worked as well.
