is this a German zeltbahn?

Hi found at a carboot sale this morning grabbed it quick as there were lots of people about thinking instantly German Italian cammo.Now i think im wrong shape is wrong should it be a triangle? All buttons are aluminium im now baffled any ideas please?

It is German made but it is from Belgium 50's-60's

As I love collecting cammo I would have paid AU$50 for it! Not sure if it's common in your parts? but not common here down south
