German Zigaretten display

I didn't know that, Adrian...these home-grown cigarettes are a first for me. The box looks very much like the old East German cigarette packs, btw...

I must have posted mine before? But I will add a pic here.

These cigarettes were "home grown". Due to wartime shortages, people were encouraged to grow tobacco at home. They then sold the harvest to the State and these were manufactured into machine made cigarettes and sold in these packets. No German tax seals on these of course.

Hi Glenn, these came from a museum at Hoek Van Holland many years ago. They had loads for sale at the time in the gift shop. The curator told me the story behind them.

I have not measured it and it is a display cabinet at the moment. But it is a bit smaller than a modern packet of 20 cigarettes, due to no filters.
