Definitely a gennie and not a welder.
There is no transformer for starters nor controls.

Looks to be a 3 phase Genny, used to power up any kind of field installations - command, medical and radio posts, camps, workshops etc. The skid could be fitted to a small trailer if necessary.

Many thanks for the replies. It has been standing in a barn and should have sold years ago as it has deteriorated somewhat. I have no idea what it is worth (?) and I will be listing it on eBay tomorrow with no reserve if anyone is interested.
