identifying a bullet

Article about: I was told that my grandad picked this up from the beaches on d-day i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this? Ive took the picture in my hand so you can see that its quite big

    Looks like a german 3.7cm PAK round. You can do a bit of easy research on the web.

    Im not wanting to sell it anyway its the only thing i have of his and it shall be passed on down to my future children and hopefully they will pass it on to theres

    It's not a German Pak...the band is wrong. It is a US 37mm solid shot AP projectile that never held any explosive charge at all. It has a small tracer cavity in the base. The Explosive projectile is a totally different shape and length.
