K98 Cleaning Kit
Hello folks.
Another fleaBay pickup. This one being a very well-used K98 cleaning kit. It is a pre-war example, with the date, manufacturer code and WaffenAmt mark present and correct on the lid. It is unfortunately incomplete, missing the larger of the two brushes and the stripping tool. It is otherwise all in one piece, having suffered the wear and tear you'd expect from field use.
The tin is divided into two compartments, with the shorter of the two holding a copious amount of congealed gun grease. The tools appear to be entirely period-correct. The oil bottle is marked 'MUNDLOS' and dated 1939. The bore snake is all in one piece, without any broken links.
Another nice little piece to add to the mini-diorama in the bottom of my display cabinet.
