Thanks for the posts, can you guys give me an idea of what these are worth because i got an offer for them. I have mixed feelings about selling them so if I dont sell them it always nice to know what they are valued at.
All the best,
Stefan

Hi stefan,
No problem it all depends really on the condition of the optics are there chips cracks,if you look through them the wrong way chips in the prisms are more noticeable,
Pm me if you like,
thats one heell of a pick up[john w.] your in the money kid.
I would think very carefully, before I sold the binoculars. Great find, and if you should try to find another, it could be quite costly. I would like to own a pair of binoculars like these.
all the best

I've got a binocular and telescope expert lined up to restore the lenses in the binoculars he says the cement has gave in and is blocking and is distorting the image. My question is like as goes for much collectables, would restoring the binoculars hurt the collectable value or increase it? He is giving me a really good rate for fixing it ($250) because he is impressed By my interest at such a young age. So the question is, to restore or not to restore the lenses.
All the best,
Stefan
at $280. you are still well in front go for it.
I realize I am still good, I just don't want to affect the collectable value of it by restoring it. I'd prefer them restored but I don't know what is best.
All the best,
Stefan
That's a lot. If the outer was perfect and only the innards needed
fixing, then maybe ok. Personally, I'd replace only the eye pieces,
saving $250 for some other binos, or items of militaria.
It's really up to you.........
Regards,
Steve.
I agree with Steve.

Well most of the work is in taking them apart but the actual task is quite simple, do collectors really care if the optics are clear?
All the best,
Stefan
