Leather ammo/medic pouch?

I got this at the mil. show the other day and I'm wondering what it was used for. There are some markings that read:
"W. AEBISCHER"
"BERN"
Above the text is a square with a medic type cross and the letters,"Wy" inside .
Also the name,"Casey Gunderson" is penned under the lid, possibly the GI that captured it? Any info is appreciated.

Could it possibly be Swiss? Bern is a city there, also the cross is Swiss looking. Could it be a ww2 period Swiss pouch used by the TR?

It is a pure Swiss item with no Third Reich connection, sorry.
