Leica camera

Found this Leica luftwaffe camera in an antiques store and thinking about buying it. Can you tell if it is authentic? Any info on this would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks very much for your rapid replies. I appreciate the experience you guys have in IDing these items, but are there any obvious flaws on this camera that you can reveal, so I know what to look for next time?

Ok.....that's enough for me. Needless to say, I won't be buying this.....although it was neat-looking.

If you search Leica serial numbers you will see that the number is far too early to be TR period. The eagle is awful and the Luftwaffe versions were not in gold, but most of the fakes you see are and the same applies for the Km examples etc...

its a russian camera ,they copied the german leica and named it something like zorki if i remember correctly, the fakers rub out the other name then stamp all the fake eagles etc , leicas werent gold and didnt have eagles or swastikas, the luftwaffe eigentum didnt have an eagle either , if it has eagles or swastikas run , by the way type in ebay leica luftwaffe you will see tons of these for sale in russia all bad, rgds Dave
