Walkwolf, Around here (West Coast USA), pretty much anything German Military sells quite fast. Although the price is just too high for me to buy, they want 400.00$,=263 pounds. I am not surprised that US compass's are so low in price. When you say you can still find them, you are referring to still finding them in the woods and beaches?

Lol, no - I meant at shows, fairs and the like.
Interestingly, at one of the schools I worked at I saw one of these Luftwaffe
compasses in a classroom and thought that maybe someone had donated
a box full of them, as people sometimes donate odd items. Turns out
it was a Vet bring-back from the teachers father and she was
very fond of it.........!
