So I just picked up this lantern. I believe it is a Luftwaffe lantern. It has the eagle on the bottom with FL (eagle) UV. Then below that is (GI BE) (1941?)
It was found in an attic in Kurland.
Any suggestions on cleaning this thing up?

I think at this point, the finish doesn't really matter all that much anymore. SOS pad and soapy water? That attic it came from must have been in a buried house.. I've got one of these Luft candle lanterns that I kept from years ago. It has 2 of the 4 glass panels in opaque glass, for some unusual reason.
