At first sight, this soldier looks like a reenactor in modern days, but it's not...in fact this tremendous photo has been taken in 1944 in the italian Alps if i'm not mistaking. The all photo report shows soldiers training and "parading" in front of the camera. Here the soldier wears his Zeltbahn as a poncho. If you look closely, you can see that the stripes placed all around the Einheitsfeldmütze are cut from another Zeltbahn. Please note the aertex shirt and the Sturmgewehr while MP38/40 pouches are retained on his belt...always this need to show off in front of the camera...
