Just wanted to ask your opinions on this item. As you can see it is marked as being made in 1935. I think there is something missing on the locking strap, but otherwise a neat case. The helmet Tri-colour is something obviously added by original owner or someone at a later stage (post war). Any ideas of value in this condition? Thank you.

    Hi Tom.

Cant give you a value of what, to me anyway, appears to be a very nice mapcase. (But I am no expert on these things)

You are right when you say that you think there is something missing on the locking strap, there should be a metal reinforcing tab on it.

Interesting that someone should have put a (?)helmet tricolour shield on the inside face.

    Regards etc

Hi Tom, Ian is correct: it lacks the metal reinforcing plate.

    Nice item, I like it.

I would guess at a value of about $125 to $150.

    Cheers, Ade,
