I have seen these for sale, and although not interested in purchasing I wondered if they were the real thing or fantasy items? I found an earlier post, but pics were removed, where mention was made of Latvian fakes flooding the market, and wondered if these were them. Any thoughts please?

Not sure on the actual engravings, but the idea of these was popular at the time...I have one from the first world war with a belt buckle design on it

Looking at the engraving, there's a lot of "sexy" units and SS items there.... I'd think that a lot of this type of stuff was either made post war, or post war engraving of blank period items

All are fantasy items, so save your money.

They look like the kinda things you find engraved on Zippo lighters

If I had to guess i'd say fake, sure there were trench art pieces but these look to be fantasy items.

I have two matchbox covers, a standard issue example and a ground dug, unit specific example of the 21st Infantry regiment.

All fantasy. I have one similar to the Afrika examples shown and though I like it, it is a fantasy piece.
