Is this post-war tan paint over factory gray?

I say postwar, but IMO the darker yellow on the handles and the opening thing is factory TAN.

I don't know about paint probably some other countries post war but nice original ammo can. timothy

I see it`s made by HCW in 1940,I have one just like it.
