    No idea about the logo, but if you try it from a different approach, ie who the WaA stamp shows up against it might give a clue?
    Have a look here and scroll down to WaA 668 and it gives a likely looking candidate of Merz-werke, Frankfurt who it seems made MG ammo boxes? It may well be wrong but I guess it's a start - does the logo look like it could form, or incorporate, an 'M' or an 'MW' in it?

    Ahhh well...that didn't work then, back to the drawing board! Worth a try though I guess.

    I found a listing for this logo HCW ,it is Hofmann Czerny Wien,they also used code bpy and made ammo boxes.

    This very salty relic box just arrived from a digger in Russia : -




    and it seems to have the very same markings...



    A good example of the search button saving me starting another thread !
