Thanks,it looks very close to my late war example and the packaging with staples etc looks old enough.
Just like to say how much I have enjoyed all the threads you've started on the forum.

So , I pulled the trigger on this item and it arrived today. I understand that there isn’t a sure way to tell the production date so if anyone needs a certain image of the packaging or the mess kit to get a better idea of a time frame I’d be happy to supply them.

I guess you know the great thread in this section of the forum about the M31 messkit.
It helps on dates and construction.
I'm looking forward to seeing your own photos.

Here are the photos I took. I wasn’t sure what would be helpful so I just took basic photos of it. The only main differences I saw was the overall size and shape are different but it’s barely noticeable, the carry wire doesn’t fit under the mess kit and the handle for the top part hangs about half a centimeter under the bottom so the lid is very loose. Don’t know if this helps but it’s what saw.

    Cheers and Happy Collecting,
    Bodhi

Something I forgot to mention is the handle is made of steel, which I believe fits with late War mess kits.
