Here are my new water bottles - Medic and regular one (late war cover with red bottle).
Some nips here and there - rusty snaps but complete with exception of metal bracket missing from the cup.
Will take better pics once I get the snaps to open :-)
Anybody with a spare shoulder strap for the medic one ? :-)

Careful with the snaps! Don't put pressure on the wool. NH

    Hello George,
The Sanitäter canteen has been modified. This type of canteen with shoulder strap normally comes with a hook instead of the carbine clip visible on its back. IMO it has been used this way, without shoulder strap...the cup shouldn't be the bakelite type but a specific aluminium type.
    Thanks

    Thanks !
I know what you mean - the belt hook as on the bread bag. I think it was done period since it matches the wear and clip is period.
Also correction, the medic bottle is red and the other one is alu dated 1943.

Managed to open both of them and the red medic one is marked MN 44.
