When I was 12 years old living in Mannheim/Germany, I found an identical Brown Map Case hanging on a nail in an old wooden shed...Great Memories, thanks for showing...

All the kurvenmesser's I see have 'Germany' on them, always thought this meant they are post war items. Is yours marked at all?
Jealous of your 1941 planzeiger

I will check!
On the front you have the inscription "D.R.G.M." (registered trade mark abbreviation for the IIIrd Reich)

Got a map sleeve to go into the collection.

Hello,
Map cases were not for Officers only....
The word "Germany" appears on a lot of items produced between both world wars.
The Brown map case seen here is the M35 type
the black is the M37 type
Thanks
