    Hi all!
I have long been interested one question - maybe someone knows, what the official name of "bakelite coated" canteen ? ( Dealers usually sell it under the name "DAK canteen", "Rommel canteen", ...etc).
Maybe someone met her name in the German documents, or literature?
After all, most of the other German canteens were their names - Feldflasche M31, Labeflasche, and so on.

The "official name" of the bakelite coated canteen?

As far as I know, it has been patented Heinrich Ritter, Esslingen am Neckar, and this model was issued to them from 1941 to 1945 (except 1944). After WW2, the manufacturer continued to release of the same type canteens for the Bundeswehr (more precisely, for the Bundesgrenzschutz).

Unfortunately, I am no longer able to find any information about this.
I will be very grateful for the help.

    Best regards, Michael

Maybe it has to do with TROLITUL?

The "official name" of the bakelite coated canteen?

All kinds of stuff were made from this material. I have seen
    it included a Luftwaffe eagle-insignia.

They did not come up with any new materials after the publishing
of the Trolitul-advertisement in the fall of 1941. The word "Bakelit"
    I have not seen!

Wilhelm, thanks for your reply. The term "Bakelite", which I mentioned, probably not right. I used is not very correct translation.
As I understand it, canteen is covered (on the outside layer) of wood veneer and some synthetic (?) resin.

It may be phenolic formaldehyde resin. NH
