Hi,
I have found this GJ rucksack (or what appears to be one). It looks to have number of repairs and modifications.
Is it a post-war Czechoslovak rework or possibly war-time repair. My concern is the top flap and riveted fittings.
Thanks.

Any feedback is appreciated - thanks !
Little bump up - i am really curious what you guys think before i pull the trigger :-)
I see nothing wrong with it. Late 43 with RB Nr instead of a makers name.

I think it looks fine. I agree the flap stitching might be of concerns but overall I am thinking it is just fine. Attached are pictures of mine if it helps.

Thanks - the flap bothers me as i cant find another one like it as well as the riveted leather patch.
Can you tell from pictures on the piece what the overall material is? I would say to trust your gut. If the patch bugs you now it will always bug you. Just my opinion. Sorry I could not be of more help. Your doing your homework and that usually pays off. Best of luck my friend.

Riveted leather patches are present both on military and civilian examples. It seems to have been repaired and I'm guessing it got both war time and post war use. The top flap is either a variation or replaced piece. If the price was right I would buy it. It is German and not post war Czech. Price? $85 to $120 - no more. NH
Thanks - I know the rucksack is wartime but the flap is not like on any wartime examples I found.
Ok, so i got it and will post more photos once it gets here.
It looks to be a subject to numerous repairs and modifcations.
