The German company Chiron has been manufacturing surgical instruments since 1921 and continues to do so today. Since the designs and materials have changed very little if at all over the decades, unfortunately, there is no way to date these forceps. They could well Be wartime-era, but just as easily from 1999.

Agreed. I would not bother with items like these, unless you knew exactly where they came from.
