Here is my "new" rucksack. Has some wear and tear, but it I like the used combat look.
My question is - how common were the rucksack straps that look liked modified y-straps ?
Thanks !

I may be mistaken, but I always thought that this style attached directly to the Y-Straps, I didn't know there were special straps provided for these...
Nice representative example, well done!

They are pretty common IMHO. As Glenn said they are for the Y-straps, unless this is a variant i don't know about. Nice pack. It's a tropical pack. Price range 100-200$.

+1 on the Y-straps. For mountain troops?
Hi,
Thanks for all replies. I know the rucksack will "work" with y-straps and a-frame.
The straps I am thinking about are like the ones pictured.
Thanks.
Hello,
You need a pair of leather or web Y-straps for this Rucksack.
It is not a mountain troops Rucksack. The Mountain troops Rucksack has attached carrying straps as mountain troops were not issued with Y-straps, design is also slightly different.
Thanks
