I guess I am...this will be my second can. I'll see it in person in about a week from now...
I already have extra original spring and spare lenses - I'll just need to get cloth/straps...and of course I'll look for a nice gasmask.

Hi Tom! Please don't give me a heart-attack!
The seller had a few other WW2 German items...mostly relic state, this can was the best shaped item he had...I would be surprised if this turns out to be a fake.
I'll take pics when it arrives...

    hey guys,

I usually collect field-gear which are in good condition, no rust, etc...with this can, there is some rust.
my question; is there any way to "clean" this a little, without hurting the paint? what do you recommend?
or is this "do not touch this, rust is good" category?
of course don't mean to clean it with a steel-brush...

    THX,
    Fabe

I'd honestly leave it alone as it's only surface rust, if kept in a dry place it wont get any worse!...
