Set Square (U-Boat?)

Interesting item, came up in a conversation with a friend, who kindly sent a photo of it, his father collected it during WWII, my friend believes it to be a U-boat item.

Anyone seen one marked like it before?

It is a KM marking (eagle with an M under it), It could be from a U-Boat but equally it could be from any KM ship or boat or class room etc.

Unless he knows from the person that picked it up its one of those things you will never know for sure!
