I have one too! It is missing the cover and strap. It does work and I note the little toggle switch in the horn controls the volume. NH

Came across a picture of another type of hand-held portable siren - certainly a variation - being used by a German infantryman

    Hi Alec
That certainly is another variation I have never come across. Thanks for showing.

this is mine I cleaned up ( resurrected ) a few years ago. The handle was missing so I turned a new one up on the lathe from nylon...... does the job and boy, is it loud when you crank the sucker up!

How does it sound? Might be fun to park outside an OAP home one night and wind 'er up to see the old folk cr@p themselves.

I've seen a couple of pull chain models, but I think they were more of a Luftschutz item.

    Default Aother siren!

This siren has just turned up from a collection, it works really well and looks pretty good as well. But its not as good as the example I have already so will go onto the shelf awaiting a new owner. I would have kept it in the old days but as the years have gone on I have slowly come to realise I can't keep it all. And I am sure someone out there would appreciate it. Before it goes I thought I would show it as they don't turn up all that often.

I'd like to see one of these to hear what they sound like. Might be fun to go in my front yard at 2 AM and try it.
