I was recently able to add this nice pair of snow goggles to my collection.
These were not really so much for snow, as they were to prevent snow blindness from the glare of the sun on the snow.

    Thank you!
    Yes, and a little expensive.
Never paid that much for any other set of goggles that I have.

    Nice googles Ralph.
I am wondering why you wouldn't just make goggles with darkened glass though? Unless this wasn't available?
I've seen 'field made' snow goggles, but these look to have been factory made so to speak.
    Thoughts?

These aren't the standard German model snow protection goggles, as the issue ones had felt like material used as the frame.
Also the German issue had a different pattern of slits with only one slit below the "t" shape, not one below and above.
They have some pictured in "Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army 33-45" Vol III, I'll take a photo if you'd like.

I'm still inclined to think these are either post-war, or from another another Northern military.
Here are the photos from the book.
I know books can be wrong , but also the thread you linked to, he wasn't 100% sure if they where issue.
