Article about: Hi All - I've never seen a German filter like this - is this some sort of Luftschutz filter? It has a serial number: 3768 inkstamped on filter and decal also. Made by "Auer" in Aug

    Hi All - I've never seen a German filter like this - is this some sort of Luftschutz filter?
    It has a serial number: 3768 inkstamped on filter and decal also. Made by "Auer" in Aug. 44

    I have some postwar Russian filters looking like this...

    Probably non military (industrial?) use.... there are no WaA markings.....

    btw, it's a CO Filter, but you probably knew that

    THX Tom, still an interesting item! (and was only 3 EU)
    I wonder what kind a gasmask was used for this...
    (no luck so far with google search)

    btw., those CCCP filters (shaped like this one) are only 18 cm tall - this one is 30 cm tall, so actually is quite large. (when I receive it, I'll update)

    Update:

    The CO-filter has arrived today - along with a rare WW2 Hungarian jerry can - I took some quick shots. It is quite heavy - my guess; around 5 kg...
    I placed it right next to the jerry can, for size compare:

    The 2 signs/logo on the front with text (both blue and white) - is actually a decal - same type as on helmets.

    ...and maybe this kind of gasmask was used with it (looks like a 1st model GM30 with some kind of long tube) (?)
    it's just a guess...

    can anyone confirm this?

    The one you picture is a GM 24, but the hose is not the normal GM24 one.....
