I say faked.... the double strike effect to the stamp ( you can see a ghosting of the numbers ) is a typical result of the 'bouncing' effect of a hand stamp.
It would have been done by a machine originally and in any case completely superfluous to a wartime tin where the SS used the same as the Wehrmacht did.
