I do not like the handle, it has no place for the ignition system, also the font on the grenade itself, take a detailed look at my today post https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/field...istory-281209/

What Dimas means is that this top part with the small hole for the ignitor part is not there on yours - maybe it has broken away??? ( but that seems unlikely )
Sorry for the flash - it is late over here.

As Paul said it looks like a parts grenade.

Sorry it took me so long to reply had uni work to do D: The dealer I got this from says it came from a massive German collector (I see him every now and then). Along with his items he brought along this, a kriegsmarine clock and a close combat broach.
Anyway back to the grenade! I had a feeling it could have been parts due to the head sitting rather oddly on it its almost like it tilts slighty? The question about the ignitor hole is quite interesting, as I ponder around that area there is a f*** load of rust and the wood appears to have dried out so (if) it came off it has been off for a while... hinting towards parts grenade. The last question is the chord im trying to get it out as we speak and as soon as I do I will let you know and post more pics. Thanks everyone for your help!
EDIT - here are the photos
Who was the dealer , hope this was cheap ? Unfortunately the collector this allegedly came from must have liked grenades put together from parts from many others

Still a nice display item with original parts...

Sadly the dealer is unown to this forum, he stands on kinda a flea market but I have gone to him for a while. I'm trying to think if he has sold me dodgey stuff beforeeee.... hmm it was around 100 I paid for it, I have come to trust the words of experts on here, please if you feel its not good I am the first to hold my hands up, I like the character with this nade though (alter original parts dont bother me either) as long as its period
