    Hey Guys,

Is anyone familiar with German medical instruments?

Here's a syringe set from temp. German field-hospital from the "Hajdúdorog-Hajdúnánás" region of Hungary (North-East) during the fighting in late 1944 that I'm bidding on:

    Markings:

    On the box: OHR-Spritze-00177
    On the syringe: TOMAXH
    On the needle: Aeufirm-PE

    I'm no expert either...
Looking at some other WW2 syringes right now...this one def. not a "simple" brass flu-shot, etc. syringe...if you look at the set of needles and 2 more "heads" - those were used for cleaning and irrigation of wounds, etc.
The price was so low, I just took a chance...

to quote "Jock" from another syringe thread:

"... it is hard to tell as the medical gear is not military marked as a rule and was produced and used both before and after the war in identical fashion. So unless you unpack it from a field kit that you know is period then there are no garuntees!"

the only thing that is sure: that it's German and that it's old...

It looks like some of old Vet needles my grandpa had for giving vaccines for the cows. The size of some of those needles seem reel large.
Is that a possible it could be for a field veterinarian?
