Default The Tan painted gasmask kanister debate

I came across this relic kanister ( Gasmaskenbüchse ) that seems to counter the suggestion that OT painted ( or overpainted ) cans were done for a post war Egyptian contract.

This one seems to have a level of corrosion and age ( and remnant of a reinforced strap ) that puts it well within the period and it certainly doesn't look like the 'pinkish' tan the DAK used in the North African desert.

    What do others think?

No doubt original one paint as though it has been on there for a while I think there were various colors of German tropical paint and shades of it I like it and if someone went to the trouble to age it it doesn't make sense to me. timothy
