    The one on the left is a GI-issue water bottle in some sort of ersatz cover...if it's been like that (read left untouched) from the War it could be a very intreresting "liberated" US canteen issued to some second-line or even freshly formed first line units....or to the Volksturm!The second is a German canteen!

    For US canteens, the date is usually marked on the bottom.........

    I got the cover of very gently ,us and then we was full of laughter.
    At the bottom it said Tawian, and I have gone and take care of it the past 10 years.

    Cant rember if the sells name was Baron Von münchhausen
