Hi Chris, they are 100% WW2. See the pinned makers list.

    "cag" were Swarovski, Tyrol, Austria.

    Cheers, Ade.

No worries, a lot of people miss them.

They look like a nice set: the swastikas are of course most likely an Allied soldiers addition but I expect you knew that.

    Cheers, Ade.

Allied? But why would an allied soldier who got these as souvenir draw a swas on them? Seller said that the German soldier who owned these made the swas. This sounds more likely to me too but it's one of those things that unfortunately we will never know.

Hi Chris, it was VERY popular for Allied soldiers to add swastikas to items they picked up. It just made the item "sexier" if it had a swastika on it when they brought it home and showed it off to friends and family. It could equally have been done by the soldiers kids after the war when playing war. I would seriously doubt it was done by any German serviceman. To me, it does not really detract from them too much: all part of the history.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hehe ''sexier' i liked that
Thanks for the info. It was good to know that habit of vets.
It doesn't distract at all in deed. I would say it gives the item a unique character.
