So, I have been told they are not German and not period. Any ideas of their origin ?

They certainly look like German boots to me and I know that riding boots did not have hobnails.
I don't see any indication of being resoled.
In my opinion they are good boots buddy.

I had the same gut feeling that they look the part but you never know :-)
The point of them being not German and post-war was their construction, but imo (humble) they look fine.

    Hello,
This type of riding boots was produced between the thirties and the sixties for the civil market.
I'm not fan of these ones. I dont like the construction.
In september 1944, when von Manteuffel arrived in Lorraine, he visited a group of officers/NCOs from one of the Panzerbrigaden, on a known photo, an officer is wearing a pair similar to those ones...
    Thanks
