Hello all! A couple of weeks ago i found this Torn E.b. vehicle and air communications instrument!

    Attachment 773950

His cap was post war overpainted with a gray color. Beneath the post war photo some letters were visible so i decided to try and remove the paint to see what's underneath!

So i started scratching with a little needle the paint. Luckily the modern paint was of a very poor quality so it started getting off emmediatly!

After i saw that the original paint couldn't be damaged because of it's excellent quality i continued letter by letter...

To reach the final stage took me about 4 hours and my hand got completely numb... But it worthed the effort!

Now i have to clear the rest of the instrument from the dust and the surface rust and it will be perfect! I also found the piece that went on the upper left place instead of the little square metal plate!

    What do you guys think?

Thanks Kradman! It took me about 4-4,5 hours! I used some soft sandpaper for the parts far from the letters!

Thank you guys! Is the 2000 sandpaper the softest? I tried with one but i had to be very careful because if i used a little more strength it scratced the surface!
