Water Bottle

I have just got this water bottle, I this it is army (heer), is there any additional info ?
There is astamp on the bottle GNI or GNL and a number I cannot read.

Nice original mid to late war steel bottle I have one just like it from about 1943. I can't remember who GNL is but made many canteens in general use by Wermacht forces and SS this type. timothy

Thank your for your additional info, unfortunately the cup is missing, but I think I will buy it next time with the cup, it is just a bit more expensive.

Unfortunately the cups are missing on a lot it was a attachable piece suppose vets kids played with them and lost a lot of them got taken off to be sold separately etc. I have a lot of them like that and sometimes when you find the original ones they want as much for the darn cup as the canteen. timothy

This would be general issue to the Wehrmacht - no branch in particular. It is missing the strap and cup. Still, a nice original piece. NH
