Wehrmacht Medic Pouch - markings ?

Hi,

I just got this medic pouch today. It is made by Paul Klopfer Berlin in 1938. Marked K for Stretcher-bearer (Krankenträger) and R for right (rechts) location on the belt. On the bottom it is marked VIII2024 - any ideas ? unit ?

Not sure at all, but VIII could be the number of the Wehrkreis and 2024 an issue number, like 2024th pouch issued within Wehrkreis VIII...

Hi

I agree with above post.

The wehrkreis issued/received equipment had a number on them. I have similar medical equpiment with numbers on them and I reckon they were there for audit purposes and the other tutonic habit of recording and documenting everything !
