What is this breadbag from???? pre-war or NVA???

Hi all,
I have found this breadbag - it's about one foot ( 30cm ) in either direction with leather fittings and dished alloy washers.
I've never seen one before - anybody else have?

Thanks guys - I will use it for my work satchel but never knew what it was / where it came from........ but its fun to wear to work!

I wouldn't as it appears to be WW2 period and just in case it's something else

My only concern Rene is that the D rings are plated so that threw me date-wise ( but I am in a desk job so it won't get knocked around )
