Article about: I came across this sling at a flea market, the guy is selling it as a kar98k sling, which I know it istn't. Any ideas what it is? My best guess would be mp-40 if it is in fact German, but it

    I came across this sling at a flea market, the guy is selling it as a kar98k sling, which I know it istn't. Any ideas what it is? My best guess would be mp-40 if it is in fact German, but it doesn't look like any mp-40 slings I've seen...

    then again, i've always heard of them being nearly identical to kar98k slings..

    Looks more like a Mauser through the stock type!...

    Looks a bit small for that IMO and my 98k slings have a buckle... but you're probably right.

    Post war sling I have had a couple on k98's I had bought years ago I was told origin of them Austria or East German brass stud and construction give them away. timothy

    Thanks Timothy! I thought so too, it doesn't look like any sling I've seen before.
