JEDEM DAS SEINE
are they ww2 what was they used for thanks for all the info
Hi, yes, WW2 german. We call them 7.92mm over here in the UK. Better known as 8mm over in North America.
These were used in MG's, for training, as the wood tip would create a back pressure and so cycle the action of the gun.
Cheers, Ade.
cheers yes i use 7.62 in the army blank an live are 7.92 bigger rounds then.Does the wooden tips fire or just explode on leaving the barrel
Some weapons were fitted with a shreader which would help break the round up on leaving the barrel. As at close range, under 25 metres, these were still dangerous. Platzpatrone is the German name for these and other blanks.
7.92 is just a touch bigger than the old 7.62 round we used to use.
Cheers, Ade.
thanks for all that info , was you in the forces by any chance Ade
No, just only interested in WW2. But I have always been interested in Firearms design and had my first rifle at 18.
Cheers, Ade.
