I think someone has been creative! A good mask and kanister "dressed up" with fake zyklon poison label and SS logo painted on.
There is no special filter designed to work with a poison gas that can enter skin pores and ears etc... only a full suit is protection.
Did the seller claim it came from Majdanek camp???

I really hope you didn't pay anything near the price this exact mask was on ebay for as has already been said, this is a totally post war made up item.

WWII GERMAN GAS MASK * DATED 1942 * NAMED * MAJDANEK POLAND * | eBay

    Thanks

Did anyone look up the feldpost number to see what they used?

    26827

    (28.4.1940-14.9.1940) 5. Batterie Reserve-Flak-Abteilung 235,
    (10.2.1943-23.8.1943) 5. Batterie gemischte Flak-Abteilung 235 (v).
