I’d avoid the temptation to use it, if I were you though.
By all means fit it to your MG... but that’s a lot of weight to be putting on such old leather!
(I’ve seen one snap, thankfully not mine. Not pretty).

I'm with Bob, looks to be an authentic WWII era sling. Rear buckle is a Mauserwerk - Oberndorf probably made between 1935-39. The spring looks to be broken on the front buckle. Leather could be either Karl Ackva, but probably most likely Mauserwerk as well. I think Karl Ackva only made holsters but I'm not sure.
Good original riemen for the MG34, post war issued tend to be in webbing. This one is good-wish I had one for my MG34!
