    The Hummel was a self propelled artillery gun. I guess it would have to be a panzer armored artillery battalion.

    That's a nice mug by the way!

    But the Hummel wasn't designed until late 1942. It first went into action in July/August 1943 at Kursk.

    It's possible that initial design was as early as 1939 but not put into service until 1942. Maybe that mug is a manufacturers trinket since it does not have a unit designation.

    Hi Alex, it is a super item. I would say it is a unofficial or semi official unit emblem for sure.

    I have one beer mug in my collection from Christmas 1940.
